The colorful and fantastical artwork for the 1997 Bally machine Cirqus Voltaire is widely considered to be among the best of the Solid State era. Here we see an example of this in the game's backglass. Note that in this game, the dot-matrix display was sunk beneath the topglass and into the playfield, giving artist Linda Deal more room to play with.
