A slap save is a playing technique used to make a difficult save on a ball about to drain. The technique consists of first hitting the flipper closer to the ball, and then a split-second later the other flipper. The first flip doesn't save the ball, but ideally slices it enough towards the other flipper that the second flip puts the ball back in play.
